I am guided by the structure of dreams & their paralleled emotional tones. Here, symbolic imagery and sensations known only through mutual recognition can communicate what my attempts in language fail to reach. In the layer between our world and those unseen places we collectively know exist, my inspiration to paint is akin to necessity.
Culture appears to also be in a state of metaxy, albeit in more physical & social ways. Yet the patterns I see in this world reflect themselves through those inner landscapes, and vice versa. Life’s character reveals itself to be mysteriously beautiful & succinct. Anytime I am reminded of it, a new idea to paint emerges.
My aim is to paint the formless as I see it, feel what has no shape yet is unmistakably palpable, and be engaged in an ongoing process of exploration, discernment, & unbridled creation.
